The
level and character of noise in enclosed spaces is affected by room dimensions
and sound-reflective characteristics of boundary surfaces. This reflected
sound effectively adds distortion and the addition of reverberant noise
increases overall sound levels. Significant reductions in noise can be achieved with careful selection and positioning of sound absorption materials. The installation of functional sound absorbers (often referred to as noise baffles) high performing ceiling panels or acoustic wall linings can often reduce employee noise exposure to safe levels.
