Wembley Arena's
New Acoustics Should Silence Critics
Hodgson
& Hodgson Group has installed new acoustic panels at the world famous
Wembley Arena, which recently celebrated its 70th anniversary. The site,
which is among the best known music venues in the world, is still the
only permanent venue of its size in London but has attracted criticism
in recent years for the standard of its acoustics.
To
improve acoustics in the renovated arena, it was vital that noise reverberation
around the building was reduced. After exhaustive research into available
products, the Arena's management approached Hodgson & Hodgson to provide
a proven and reliable solution within the 72 year old listed building.
All four internal walls needed treatment and TufSound
wall and ceiling panels were chosen for the job. The
£35million renovation has now been completed at Wembley Arena which
reopened in April 2006.
"We
wanted to make sure that when we reopened it would be as London's number
one venue" says Peter Tudor Wembley Arena's General Manager. "The
acoustic performance of the arena is central to creating a superb experience
both for performers and audiences, which is why we called in Hodgson &
Hodgson to transform the quality of sound in the building".
