Hodgson
& Hodgson Ensures Exceptional Acoustics for Wales Millennium Centre
The
Hodgson & Hodgson Group has supplied its TufSound
acoustic panelling for installation into the prestigious Wales Millennium
Centre in Cardiff.
As
well as being home to Welsh National Opera, the theatre hosts an extremely
diverse range of musical and theatrical performances attracting audiences
of all ages and tastes.
The
diversity presents a formidable challenge to ensure that the internal
acoustics are exceptional. Consequently, a decision was made to opt for
a solution from Hodgson & Hodgson that combines the benefits of TufSound
acoustic panels and a stretched fabric system incorporating MelaTech foam
behind an acoustically transparent fabric.
The
Wales Millennium Centre was opened in November 2004 and has since played
host to a multitude of prestigious events, from ballet and opera to comedy
and art exhibitions. Designed to be unmistakably Welsh and internationally
outstanding, the building is the centrepiece of the phenomenally successful
regeneration of Cardiff Bay.
