Hodgson & Hodgson Wins Acoustic Contract for New BBC Radio Studios Having already successfully installed acoustic products for BBC Radio Stations in Hull and Bristol, Hodgson & Hodgson was a clear choice to be awarded the contract for five new radio stations at BBC Radio Leicester. The order, worth £160,000 was to provide acoustic treatment for the new studios, including acoustic panels for the walls and ceilings. The newly built studio walls have been lined with sound-absorptive quilt and steel acoustic panels. These steel panels have been faced with fabric to give an aesthetically pleasing finish. In addition, acoustic panels have been fitted to the ceilings to achieve a strictly-specified level of sound insulation and absorption. The order also included the installation of double-glazed windows and 33dB timber acoustic doors into the BBC's building at St Nicholas Place in Leicester. Hodgson & Hodgson also provided acoustic doors, windows and SoftSound sound-absorptive panels for a further four studios. As every studio has a different specification, the Company designed panels specifically for each one. |
