Bryant Homes - Albermarle House, Beckenham

Assessment of noise transfer through the existing concrete structure due to amplified music from O'Neils public house located on the ground floor of the building. Specifications for improvements to the floor and wall constructions to ensure suitable internal noise levels in the residential dwellings when amplified music is being played in the public house.

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment. Acoustic testing of existing internal partitions. Design advice for remedial work on existing building shell and new block façades. Technical advice for mechanical services attenuation. Ongoing design advice on internal sound transfer (airborne and impact) and the control of reverberant sound to achieve the design criteria set out in Building Regulations Part E and F.

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment including passing trains. Specification of suitable glazing and ventilation systems for the residential dwellings to ensure internal noise levels meet appropriate criteria.

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment. Specification of suitable glazing and ventilation systems for the residential dwellings to ensure internal noise levels meet appropriate criteria.



Bellway Homes - Twyford Abbey Road, Park Royal

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment. Specification of suitable glazing and ventilation systems for the various buildings to ensure internal noise levels meet appropriate criteria. Assessment of design of Community Centre and calculate noise break-out from function room.



Cromwell Road, Cambridge (200 Flats)

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment. Liaison with LA to condition discharge. Ongoing technical advice for façade design. Assessment of naturally ventilated building envelope to control noise break-in, design and advice on internal sound transfer (airborne and impact) and the control of reverberant sound to achieve the design criteria set out in Building Regulations Part E and F. Design of car park extract plant attenuation. Pre-completion sound insulation testing to Part E compliance.



Aragon Tower, London

Testing of existing partitions. Technical advice for mechanical services attenuation. Design and advice on internal sound transfer (airborne and impact) to achieve the design criteria set out in Building Regulations Part E.

Linden Homes - Sandy Lane, Teddington

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment. Vibration survey to identify existing levels of vibration due to passing trains. Assessment of design of various buildings (residential accommodation, crèche, care home and offices). Specification of suitable glazing and ventilation systems for the various buildings to ensure internal noise levels meet appropriate criteria.



Sefton Borough Council - Schools

BB93 assessments and reports for newly built, extended and refurbished schools. For many projects outline and detailed design advice was also sought.



Woodstone Primary School, Ravenstone, Leicestershire

Working as part of the design team in order to select an appropriate ceiling system for the teaching areas and sports hall. Following a daytime noise survey a desktop assessment was performed in order to review the performance of the sound insulation of the building envelope; sound insulation between teaching areas; and reverberation in the main areas.



St Marys School, Cheshunt

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment. Assessment of new secondary school (13 classroom blocks including music rooms, dance studios, recording studio, multipurpose hall, technology rooms, workshops etc) in line with Building Bulletin 93. Assessment of building envelope to control noise break in. Assessment of internal noise transfer. Assessment of reverberation times in teaching spaces. Advice on remedial works in areas where the BB93 criteria had not been met.



Howe Park and Kents Hill First Schools

Noise survey to identify existing acoustic environment. Assessment of two new built nurseries in line with Building Bulletin 93. Assessment of building envelope to control noise break-in. Assessment of internal noise transfer. Assessment of reverberation times in teaching spaces. Advice on remedial works in areas where the BB93 criteria had not been met.



Edric Hall, London South Bank University - Auditorium

Assessment of acoustic environment within the auditorium of the proposed new theatre. Advice on controlling reverberation times, long reflections, focusing to ensure a suitable acoustic environment within the auditorium. Assessment of noise transfer between the dance studios and the auditorium. Noise survey to identify existing noise environment. Assessment and control of mechanical services noise generated by roof top plant in line with BS4142.

Arnold Lodge Medium Secure Unit, Leicester

This project involved an assessment of the room acoustics for the communal lounge areas at the proposed Medium Secure Unit at Arnold Lodge, Leicester. The technical review involved assessing the architectural plans in order to calculate and predict levels of reverberation in the areas. It also offered design advice to control reflections in problematic areas.

Premier Travel Inn, Nottingham East Midlands Airport

This project assessed the potential noise impact from local environmental noise to the guidance contained within BS8233: 1999. A background noise survey was performed to detail the prevailing acoustic environment including ambient noise sources such as road traffic noise from the nearby A453 as well as air traffic noise from the nearby airport. Design advice was included and noise mitigation measures were suggested.

Campbell Road Chalk Pit, Gravesend

Environmental noise survey to establish existing noise levels. Prediction of noise levels to residential properties from infilling activities within the chalk pit. Recommendations to ensure noise and vibration levels do not exceed LA criteria. Preparation of evidence for Expert Witness at public inquiry.

Paddington LTVA, London

Prediction of all plant and vehicle noise levels on site to closest residential and commercial buildings. Section 61. Recommendations to reduce noise levels to LA noise limits.
